My best decision ever to make money from my photos by opening my Own On line Print and Demand Store
We recently had a discussion in a group I am in about the print on demand online shop Zazzle. And were all in agreement that it is the place to have your photos, you have total control, and its very easy to manage. No outlay or set up cost to you.
Zazzle is a print on demand company, it allows people to create their own images and promote them. Zazzle pays you when people buy your products and when you send people to Zazzle who buy products from other sellers.
Some of my photos look great as a 8×10 and no larger, so I wanted somewhere to showcase them. I am currently working on building up my stock and it has been really simple to do, and once finished I will have my own store, which I can send buyers to, or send buyers to other artists work
It is very easy to work with Zazzle and I enjoy it. The benefits are great, and you can design products to go on a lot of your articles, for example heres my Douge De Bourdeaux on a mouse mat.
You can see here How I sell my photos online Where you can make money from your designs, photos, pictures, and referring customers to their products.
Visit my Store (which I am currently working on) to See more or sign up today for FREE and start creating your own products with your photos.
Go through your collection on photos and group on similar Categories – e.g Landscapes, animals, buildings, people…….
Remember though even if YOU don’t like the photo, do NOT discard it, my FIRST photo I sold was one I didn’t think much of.
I have submitted lots of photos in different portfolios and some photos have been rejected – maybe as there is already too much choice in the chosen category – don’t be disheartened by this – this just means they are looking closely at your photographs, and keeping quality high.
Fotolia keep a good stock of photos and ensure their name for photos, I have found that by looking at other peoples files and searching key words helps me to work out what may be accepted, or that you may find a niche market for your unique images.
So I have spoken about Fotolia…….What is it…..Who are they?
This is how they describe themselves (I have taken prominent experts from their about us page.) And this is what I like about it.
– FOTOLIA is the first worldwide social marketplace for royalty free stock images, allowing individuals and professionals to legally buy and share stock images and illustrations.
– Fotolia offers the largest image bank of free and affordable royalty free photos and illustrations perfect for any medium, web or print.
– Photographers and designers constantly update Fotolia with thousands of new photos and illustrations each day, while photographers and designers receive commission from each photo sold and revenue from advertising on the free section.
– Fotolia provides a compromise between photographers and buyers, by protecting a photographer’s intellectual property rights and offering high commissions, while legally lowering the price barrier so that everyone may enjoy/afford these beautiful images.
– Fotolia challenges the traditional closed agency model by offering the opportunity to monetize their talents to everyone, hobbyist or professional, whatever their fame, status, or size of portfolio may be.

So what Kind of Photos Sell?
I love flowers and so do lots of other people
I love taking pictures of flowers, and have found these gorgeous prints to be very popular, especially for a bulk buy. Selling many of the same product, Like occasion cards or the Post Cards.
Loch Lomond Scotland
As you see my photos are from around ***Loch Lomond*** in Scotland, a local (to me) beauty spot, which sits on the ***WEST HIGHLAND WAY.
It is a popular tourist attraction,
TOP TIP – research your chosen subject. And use as many relevant Keywords to describe the picture as possible.
Google loves pictures and this can help your pages in the search engines.
Just some info:The main route along the loch is the A82 road which runs the length of its western shore, is absolutely stunning, For a long time this was a notoriously dangerous road, with the route clogged with tourists during the summer months. It was upgraded in the 1980s and 1990s, although the stretch north of Tarbet remains unimproved. (Believe me it’s a nightmare) But the photos are worth the travel
Choosing a Niche Market for your photos
I am lucky I suppose I live on the border of the Famous West Highland Way walk, the opportunity for breathtaking shots is unlimited.
The west highland way is Scotland’s first official long distance route links Milngavie to Fort William – a distance of 154km (96 miles) – from the northern outskirts of Glasgow, to the foot of Ben Nevis at Fort William.
The terrain ranges from lowland moors, dense woodland and rolling hills, to high mountainous regions in the Scottish Highlands. These environments provide habitats for a diverse range of wildlife species, both flora and fauna, and give photographers ample resources for stunning pictures
A beautiful Guide, is a present I got from a friend a DVD of highlights from this amazing walkway
I love landscapes and flowers, which really are the two types of photos I focus on. So these are the ones I sell.
Many others use quotes, slogans or funny text to make products from and appear to do just as well.
I took this picture of the white flower whilst on holiday in Jamaica, It is a favorite seller.
But my Favorites are the views from and around Loch Lomond which are Breathtaking and always popular.
As I wander around the web looking for great opportunities to help people get on their journey of selling photos, I came across the author of Step-by-Step Guide to Micro Stock Photography the author has written this as a guide to how he got started in selling stock.

My Favourite Camera for taking good Quality Photos
EASY to take fantastic pictures easily
What camera do I have – if I am honest – and I am, I actually had to go and get my camera to give you the precise model, how embarrassing, but as I said before I am writing this for others who, like myself have 1000’s of photos on their computer and could actually be unknowingly sitting on a small fortune.
I will not get all technical on you – but for easy to use no nonsense this is THE ONE – I LOVE THIS CAMERA! Point and shoot. I thank my husband for buying it for me.
TOP TIP: always have a camera with you, keep one at work in your desk, in your bag.
Believe me its great also having a pocket sized camera to carry with you on days out and about – even shopping in town. I still carry mine in my bag and car as you know how many times you think “I wish I had my camera”! and the opportunity is lost. I remember one time passing the loch and the sunset was the most beautiful I have ever seen – yep you guessed it,
I never had my camera
and I had to watch the most beautiful sun going down with only a memory of it.
….funny photos CAN make you money too
How many silly photos do you have lying around? You know these funny photos, that people just love.

I have cashed out several times, and they have made it even easier to get your money via a credit card that they top up!
I live in the UK and have had no problems at all
