My favorite FREE Cowl Crochet and neckwarmer Patterns, all of which are available for free on my crochet site. Possibly NOW my Most Favourite is the GRannySqaure Balaclava.
Honestly, it’s so funky, and my friend who is a skier has ordered several for them to take on their next skiing trip
The Granny Square balaclava is super simple and easy to crochet you can see how to attach the squares and the layout over on my Blog HERE
Colourful Crochet Granny Square Balaclava Written pattern (adult)
Another favourite is the Crochet Hooded Cowl with attached ribbed Turtleneck, and it is fabulously warm and cosy. Again it is a pretty simple and easy crochet pattern There is no doubt that this crochet hood and cowl combination is a winner! I called this the ‘Coodie’ after my popular ‘Scoodie’ pattern which was released many years ago on a writing platform (no longer online).
It is a funny story how this came about because I had been indoors for a while as I was unwell, I had time to play around, someone somewhere online posted an image of something similar and I thought WOW now that’s clever.
So I made one. I posted a picture of it online and was inundated for a written pattern.
I do not take any crochet orders now as my neck and back are extremely sore, (LONG STORY) But I LOVE to crochet I just don’t really like the pain I get from it.
So now I just limit myself to what I can do. And focus on the positives
SO if I posted how I made it and then my friends can get someone else who crochets to make them one.
I freehanded my first Crochet Coodie. So I went back to the drawing board and wrote the Croche pattern out as I went. And ta-dah the Free crochet Pattern for the COODIE was on my blog

This Cool Cosy and Warm Crochet Cowl is modelled by my daughter. It is so easy to crochet, I used several sizes of hooks to create the shaping of the cowl , and I had to run to catch a quick picture of my daughter wearing it before she ran out of the house with it.
It is a FREE Crochet Pattern on my crochet website HERE
Below is my Sister in Laws favourite gift I made for her, which I called the SIL cowl a FREE crochet pattern
she wanted a crochet neckwarmer that would keep the back of her neck warm, whilst in the office as she sat next to the door which had a cool breeze every time it opened and was making her neck stiff. And something she could double up to wrap up under her coat at going home time. I came up with an all in one crochet piece. which could be doubled up if needed.
It is such an easy crochet project and the piece in worked in the Round and can be made as you watch your favourite Netflix
