How to Dye an Armchair

SO every one Keeps asking me the same questions over and over Can you really dye your furniture?

How did you change the color of your armchair and sofa? Did you dye the fabric? Does it even work?

I didn’t even know this was a thing until recently I came across a group on FB and someone had actually dyed their leather sofa!

Like actually dyed a RED leather Sofa to Grey! And it was beautiful

I had this old wingbacked armchair that I desperately wanted to save and  upcycle as it is so comfortable for when I am crocheting, however getting it reupholstered was going to cost a fortune, so seeing so many people having such successful stories and sharing their pictures of them actually dying their fabric sofas,

I rushed straight over to Amazon to by this dye.

I actually used a spray bottle and evenly sprayed the chair. Simple! Well then I wanted to rub in some extra to the more worn bits and make sure the buttons and creases were all covered

WEAR GLOVES! it took forever to get this off! NO seriously BUY GLOVES to waer when doing this!

For the legs I just use a matt spray paint in a can, I did not seal the armchair as the material was lovely and velvety and I felt the color would not transfer as it had taken so nicely.

I wear light-colored trousers at times and no dye has transferred and a year on and the armchair looks fabulous.
